OAMPS Insurance Brokers CEO Peter Blackmore announced today that he will be taking up a new role as Head of Corporate Development. OAMPS' current Head of Operations, Keith McIvor will take on the CEO role from July 1 2009.
Peter Blackmore said, “Following the positive change in OAMPS’ culture and results over the last few years I am now looking forward to focussing on key relationships and continuing the growth of our substantial client base. Keith has been an integral member of OAMPS’ leadership team over the past year as Head of Operations. Keith has 23 years experience in the insurance industry and prior to joining OAMPS he held the role of General Manager with our sister company Crombie Lockwood in New Zealand.”
Keith McIvor said, “Since the acquisition by Wesfarmers, Peter has united OAMPS under a single brand and has created an exciting foundation for the future. Peter’s new role is critical to our business development and success going forward and I am looking forward to us continuing to work together in our new roles.”

Background on Keith McIvor
Keith McIvor has over 23 years experience in the insurance industry. Prior to coming to Australia he was General Manager at Crombie Lockwood where he led the operations to become New Zealand’s second largest insurance broker. He has also held senior roles responsible for international and national accounts, business development, branch and sales management, underwriting agencies and claims. He has also worked as an underwriter.
Keith and his family relocated to Australia 12 months ago to take up the role of Head of Operations for OAMPS where he worked alongside Peter Blackmore to help achieve significant growth in the business.
